The first sports bets were placed in Indiana on September 1, 2019 by Governor Eric Holcomb. He placed $10 on the Pacers to win the NBA Championship, $10 on the Colts to win the Super Bowl and $10 on Indiana Fever winning their game that very night. Although the bets may not have won, it was a historic moment for sports betting in The Hoosier State and online sportsbooks launched just a month later.
Indiana now has one of the most established and competitive sports betting markets in the United States with 14+ sportsbooks now live in the state.

Indiana, like most legal sports betting states, requires you to be 21 years old or over to place a wager. There are a wide range of retail sports betting venues you can visit in Indiana but the easiest way to place a sports bet is to download a sportsbook app or visit a sportsbook desktop website online and register that way.
