Yesterday’s Results for New Jersey Devils vs New York Islanders

Analysis: At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Islanders over the New Jersey Devils. It seems not that long ago, the Islanders were the team to beat in the East Division. Fast forward and now the team that calls Long Island home is sitting in fourth place, although the Isles have locked up a coveted playoff spot. But the last thing you want to do is go into the post-season having lost a string of games to bad teams, yet that's exactly what the Isles are faced with tonight if they drop this one to the Devils. They come in having been swept in a pair by the Buffalo Sabres. So you can bet that, although the Isles don't have to win in these final few games, they certainly want to (and need to) if they're to go into the playoffs on the right note. They're in a great position tonight to do just that as the Devils are 2-12 in the last 14 meetings here on the island and 1-7 in their last eight games as a road underdog. New York is 30-18 (+12 games on the moneyline) in its last 48 immediately after allowing three or more goals in two straight games. Take the Isles. As always, good luck...Al McMordie
