- This is a taxing turnaround for the Thunder coming off a big win in New Orleans last night. The Thunder had an impressive shooting night hitting over 53 percent overall including making 15 3-point shots at an over 44 percent clip. The 4th quarter was tight and all five starters for the Thunder played at least 31 minutes. Houston is only 10-24 S/U on the road this season, but the Rockets are playing at a high-level right now, only trailing Boston in net efficiency over the past 10 games. The Thunder have won two of three in this series on the season, but Houston has been one of the NBA’s best ATS performers and is 11-1 S/U and 11-1 ATS in the month of March including posting five S/U road wins including quality results in Phoenix and Sacramento. The Thunder remain in a tight battle in the Western Conference standings, currently in second place a half-game behind Denver while Minnesota lurks just a game back. The situation is more critical for Houston however with the Rockers in the #11 position, or currently the first team out. Golden State won last night as Houston is a game behind for the #10 position with only 11 games remaining. This is the first game back at home after playing four of the past five on the road including last night’s notable win for Oklahoma City as this is a daunting turnaround without an off day. Ahead on Oklahoma City’s schedule are several more high-profile games this week including the Suns visiting on Friday. Oklahoma City hasn’t played a back-to-back since an eight-point loss in early March and Monday’s win for Houston was an impressive showing of growth for this team, struggling early with poor shooting but still delivering an emphatic closing run as the Rockets are playing with great urgency right now and should be a threat for an upset Wednesday, to buck the season road results.
