Analysis: This is a play on the SAN DIEGO PADRES as part of our MLB Wednesday Triple Play. San Diego has dropped the first two games of this series and has lost five of six overall and turns to Stephen Kolek to give them a chance to somehow salvage a split in this series. This will be his first ever start against the Dodgers which is not a bad thing as an unfamiliarity can be an edge. He has struggled in his two home starts but in six road outings, he has a 1.75 ERA and 1.22 WHIP covering 36 innings where he has allowed only two home runs. Emmet Sheehan is making his first start since 2023 after undergoing Tommy John surgery and his return is huge for this depleted starting rotation. He is not expected to go long, 60 pitches max, so we will see a lot of the bullpen which is a tired unit having tossed 15 innings the last two games with three pitchers going both games so they will be unavailable including two of the best in Anthony Banda and closer Tanner Scott. 10* (959) San Diego Padres
