Analysis: This is a play on the SEATTLE MARINERS for our A.L. Game of the Month. We are going contrarian with Seattle which is coming off an 11-5 series opening loss last night which was its fourth straight defeat to fall to 22-18 as the pitching has been obliterated and now faces a bashing Yankees offense. The Mariners turn to Bryan Woo to stop the bleeding and he can do just that vas he comes in with a 3.25 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in seven starts with the last four coming on the road and overall he is pitching to a 2.88 xERA so it has been even better. Now he is back home where he has a 1.38 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in two starts which may be limited but he has thrived at SAFECO in his career with a 2.62 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 19 home starts. New York is now 3-1 on this current roadtrip which has put it two games over .500 overall on the road at 11-9 which is nothing special but comes in as a sizable favorite because of name and starter. Max Fried finally gave up a run in his last start which was a solo bomb by Jackson Merrill, his first run allowed in four starts and the contrarian action here is that New York is 8-0 in his eight starts on the season.
