- Analysis
- The Jets are coming into this game with a 2-1 series lead, but they are coming off of a bad loss in their last game. They went into St Louis for game 3 with a 2-0 series lead and they lost that game 7-2. They got off to a very bad start as well, going down early in the 1st period and being down 3-0 by the end of the 1st. That win was a long time coming for the Blues after the way they played in the first 2 games of this series. They lost the 1st game 5-3 and the 2nd game 2-1, but they played very well in both of those close games. The 1st game they actually had a 3-2 lead into the 3rd, and the 2nd game was a very close game right to the end. They had also lost to the Blues in Winnipeg a few weeks ago and that loss ended their 12 game win streak at the time so the Blues have been pushing for their revenge and finally got in game 3. Hellebuyck was awful in that game as he allowed 6 goals on 25 shots, and he has not been that great throughout this series either. He gave up 3 goals on only 17 shots in the 1st game and had his team down early in that game as well. The only good game he has played in this series was in game 2, but the Blues have also been a much better team at home this season and their offense finally opened up in that home game. The Jets were good on the road this season, but recently they have not been great as they have lost 2 of their last 4 road games and 1 of their wins in that span was a shootout win against a very bad Blackhawks team who was one of the worst in the league this season. The Blues were very hot to end the season, but they have also been on fire at home as they have won their last 13 straight games there and have scored at least 5 goals in each of their last 4 games there. Their defense has also been much better in these as they have allowed 2 goals or less in a majority of those games as well. The Blues will win this game at home.
