- The Liberty are 12-2 and looking again like serious WNBA Contenders. This could be a dangerous game for New York however as it will be a fifth road game in the past six games and follows Saturday’s huge 90-82 win in Las Vegas in a rematch of last season’s finals. These teams played in late May and New York won 81-78 as a heavy favorite in a game that was very tight throughout the second half. The shooting numbers were similar in a very even matchup with a free throw edge for New York ultimately the difference in the outcome. The Mercury are having a solid rebound season up to 7-7 following last season’s last place finish. This team is playing well right now with a 4-2 run including a nice win Sunday hosting Seattle, as well as a win over the Lynx last week. The Mercury are 5-2 S/U at home this season and while Phoenix has not defeated the Liberty since August 2022, this is a favorable opportunity for a team that is 9-5 ATS this season. The 7-7 mark that has the Mercury in fifth place in the standings has been through a quality schedule as the Mercury have played the Aces three times, the Storm and Lynx twice each, in addition to single games with Connecticut and New York as nine of 14 games have been against arguably the top five rated teams in the league. New York has played only four games against the other four top five teams as the glowing record for the Liberty has included going 6-0 vs. Washington and Indiana.
