- While Framber Valdez (5-4, 3.99 ERA, 51 SO) wasn't his best in his last start, I expect him to be strong today against a team that he's dominated over the course of his career. As a matter of fact, Valdez is 3-1 w/ a 2.91 ERA in six starts against the White Sox. Not only is Chicago the worst scoring team in the league, they are also worst in OBP allowed as well.
Talking about the White Sox, they will have rookie pitcher Jonathan Cannon (0-1, 4.56 ERA, 24 SO) on the mound. Although I do like to give some time to evaluate rookie pitchers in their first year, I do believe that Cannon is simply in a bad spot with a bad team. Chicago managed to steal their last series against Arizona. Don't expect them to take this one against an AL opponent in Houston. Expect a dominant short road trip from Houston as they look to claw their way back in the standings.
