The Edmonton Oilers struggled down the stretch of the season with four losses in their final five regular season games. They last played on Thursday where they lost in Colorado, 5-1. Stuart Skinner is their playoff goaltender after stabilizing the position in the fall after Knoblauch was hired. In his 32 starts at home, he has a 23-6-3 this season with a 2.49 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
Edmonton won three of their four games against the Kings in the regular season including both games at home. After a 4-1 victory at home in the last meeting between these teams on March 28th, the Oilers have outscored Los Angeles by an eight-to-one margin in the two games played in Edmonton. The Kings have won only three times in their last eleven games when playing with revenge for a loss by three or more goals. Los Angeles ended the regular season with six victories in their final eight games. Yet they have not scored more than two goals at five-on-five in their last five games with their shot percentage dropping to 6.7%.
