Analysis
#956 ATLANTA RUN-LINE with Elder (-) over Miami with Weathers at 7:20 PM EST Off the 6-4 home loss to the Rangers, the Braves will have no trouble extending the margin in this contest. Miami enters this division battle off a surprising 6-3 road win at Wrigley Field and this will be a tough spot for manager Skip Shumaker and his boys. Fresh from Triple-A Gwinnett, young right-hander Bryce Elder will toe the rubber for Atlanta. Last year, No. 55 made 31 starts for the Braves and was touched for only 74 earned runs and 160 hits in 174.2 innings. Bryce struck out 128 and walked 63 on his way to a 12-4 record with a 3.81 ERA. In his last three outings against the Marlins, Elder allowed eight earned runs and 17 hits in 17.1 frames. After the math, that equates to a 1-0 mark with a respectable 4.15 ERA. Southpaw Ryan Weathers will counter for the visitors. With four outings completed this season, No. 60 has been clipped for six earned runs and 18 hits in 20.0 innings of work. Ryan whiffed 22 and issued nine free passes en route to a 2-1 tally with a 2.70 ERA. Last year, Weathers faced Hotlanta on April 17th, 2023 at home and was punched for two earned runs and six hits in 6.0 innings. RW fanned five, issued two free passes, and was tagged with the loss in the 2-0 defeat. There are a couple of elite trends that help our cause. Atlanta has won 162 of its last 239 when playing under the lights over the past three seasons. Meanwhile, Miami has fallen in 10 straight as a Monday night guest. The Braves haven't lost back-to-back games all season long and they'll have no trouble pounding this overachieving Marlins bunch. Take Atlanta on the run-line with Elder. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
