- The Phillies are coming into this game with a 14-8 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They just swept the White Sox in their last series and they have now won their last 6 straight games. Their pitching has been very good in those as they have allowed 2 runs or less in 2 of their last 3 as well as 4 of their last 6 games, and their offense has also been very good as they have scored at least 7 runs in each of their last 4 games. They are going up against a Reds team that is 12-9 this season and is also coming off of a sweep in their last series against the Angels, but prior to that series against the Angels they were actually swept by the Mariners in a series. He has been very good in his 4 starts this season and has actually been getting better in each start. He started the season by giving up 3 earned runs in 5 innings and followed that up by allowing 2 earned runs in 6 innings, but now he has pitched 15 innings in his last 2 starts without allowing a single run in those. He has also been striking out more batters with 8 strikeouts in each of his last 2 starts. Hunter Greene is starting for the Reds here and he is 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA this season. He has been good this season as he has allowed 2 runs or less in 3 of his 4 starts, but he also had 1 very bad start in his last game at home as he allowed 6 earned runs against the Brewers. Even in the games he has pitched well in, he has not had an outing where he did not allow any runs this season. The Phillies are very hot right now and they are scoring a lot of runs in their games, they are going to put up runs on the Reds here while the Reds struggle more with how good Suarez has been this season along with the Phillies bullpen in recent games as well. The Phillies also lost to the Reds in a series earlier this season at home so they will be looking to return the favor and start this series on the road with a win while they are still hot.
