Off Tuesday's heartbreaking road loss to the Devil Rays, the Halos will bounce back in a big way in this rematch. Los Angeles finishes this trip with one more at Tampa Bay and a three-game set at Cincinnati and manager Ron Washington will want to make sure his troops take care of business in this spot especially with a an advantage on the mound.
Southpaw Reid Detmers will toe the rubber for the Angels. In three starts against the Red Sox (twice) and Orioles, No. 48 was nicked for only two earned runs and eight hits in 17.1 innings of work. Reid struck out 26 and walked six on his way to a 3-0 tally with an elite 1.04 ERA. Overall, with 61 career starts in the books, Detmers has been dinked for 147 earned runs and 285 hits in 315.2 frames. After the math, that adds up to a 15-19 tally with a 4.19 ERA.
Right-hander Zack Littell will counter for the home team. Lined up against the Halos, Rockies, and Blue Jays, No. 52 was tapped for two earned runs and 15 hits in 15.1 innings. Zack fanned 15 and issued five free passes en route to a 1-0 record with a strong 1.17 ERA. In his seven-year career, Littell appeared in 176 games (21 starts) and was punched for 120 earned runs and 274 hits in 275.0 frames. That equates to a 17-11 mark with a 3.93 ERA.
Under the lights, Detmers has been in a zone this season surrendering only one earned run and six hits in 12.1 innings. That's good enough for a 2-0 tally with an incredible 0.73 ERA.
