Gold Standard on Tampa Bay
Alek Manoah has been struggling lately as he is 0-3 with a 5.59 ERA in four May starts while Zach Eflin is 3-1 with a Toronto is 13-14 on the road this season while Tampa Bay is an outstanding 22-5 inside of Tropicana Field thus far. Tampa Bay has been doing well against Manoah in their careers as guys like Josh Lowe is 2-for-3 with three RBI while most of the Blue Jays hitters have barely faced Eflin. The only hitter with more than five at-bats against Eflin is Brandon Belt as he is 3-for-12 with a homer and three RBI, but this Toronto lineup is going to struggle to figure out his stuff early in the game. Zach Eflin has been doing incredibly well when diving into his Baseball Savant page as he is in the 98th percentile in walk percentage, 95th percentile in chase rate, 84th percentile in xERA, and 79th percentile in strikeout percentage. Eflin throws six different pitches (sinker, cutter, curveball, changeup, fastball, slider) and his changeup has been effective to lefties as it has a .167 batting average against. The Blue Jays have only won 16 of their previous 49 road games against the Rays so expect the Tampa Bay Rays to dominate in this game.
