Root Reserve on Chicago White Sox
Don’t expect a lot of scoring fro the Detroit Tigers today. The Tigers are incapable of scoring big and scored two-or-less runs in five of their last ten games. This is the first meeting of the season between these two, who will face each other seven times over the next week and half. The White Sox are clearly the hotter team entering the fray as they have won each of their last three series while Detroit has dropped four straight series. Chicago has been hitting the ball better lately. It will hurt if they can’t have Robert in the lineup, but they put up six without him on Wednesday, so they won’t be in trouble by any means. Giolito picked up his first win on the road in his last road start, striking out a season-high nine batters. He has tossed six-plus innings in last eight starts and I expect he again gets deep against a Tigers offense that seems incapable of putting up a big run total. Chicago is 7-1 in their last eight meetings in Detroit and 44-19 in their 63 meetings overall.
