- Gonzaga is coming into this game playing very well in their recent games as they finished the regular season very hot and even went on to win their WCC Tournament. They have won their last 11 straight games and have been very dominant in a lot of those games. They opened the tournament with a big win over Grand Canyon and followed up with a closer win against TCU but even when they were trailing in the 1st half they looked like they were in control of that game and really came out in the 2nd half to pull away. They are going up against a UCLA team that has also been very good this season as they were the best team in the Pac-12 all season but they did not even win the Pac-12 Tournament as they lost in the finals to Arizona, a team that was upset in the 1st round as a number 2 seed, and they were even beating Arizona late in that game but blew a late lead to lose it. They have not looked that great in the NCAA Tournament either as they breezed by UNC Asheville in the 1st round but really struggled in their game against Northwestern as they would keep pulling away late but would allow Northwestern back in the game. A big part of this is the defensive absence of Jaylen Clark and without him to defend, they are going to have a very difficult time holding leads and stopping players like Drew Timme and Julian Strawther. Strawther is also from Las Vegas where they are playing this game so he is going to bring his best effort for his friends and family that show up for him and Gonzaga also has a much healthier team in general than UCLA who is banged up with some key injuries. UCLA will not have the defensive capabilities to keep a lead in this game and it is going to bite them in this game against a very good team that can match them. Gonzaga will cover the spread in this game.
