An inter-conference battle with some serious health misgivings.  The Philadelphia 76ers are on the road.. They are the Eastern Conference’s 3rd place team.. They are tough and scrappy.  They also have Day to Day listings fro PG James Harden and C Joel Embiid… literally the team’s two best players and only two league superstars!  We do not know if one or both will play or sit?  That makes them the clear underdogs… Vegas thinks it is a +4.5 to +5 underdog status… but if both of those guys miss the game?... Philly does not even have a chance to cover let alone win.  The Golden State Warriors are not without doubt.  They are the sixth place team in the Western Conference… and they are the league’s defending champions!  However they are not nearly as good defensively as the team that won the hardware last season.  Also they (the Warriors) have some of their own players missing games… SF Andrew Wiggins is out because of personal reasons?... and C Kevon Looney is out.  Kevon is not the best center in the league by far… He is average… but he is a much needed average when the team’s stars are all skill players… and older skill players at that.  The great betting opportunity here is in believing the injury report… and believing the Warriors dominance at HOME.

The Philadelphia 76ers have won 9 of their last 10 games. They went 7-3 ATS during that stretch.  They won their last game against the Chicago Bulls 116-91.  In that win Embiid played for only 16 minutes for 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.  Amazing stats for 16 minutes of play.  If a rookie PF was averaging those stats over 30 minutes per game… They would get close to a  MAX contract extension. Harden did not play.  That left PG De’Anthony Melton to fill Harden’s shoes for 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.  SF Tobais Harris logged 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists… reminding us all that Harris was designed to be the best player on a bad team OR the 4th best player on a Great team… currently he is the Sixers third best player… and that might be the problem that keeps the Sixers from being favored to win the Championship ever?

The Golden State Warriors have won only 4 of their last 10 games.  They have a serious disconnect going on between the veteran Hall of Famers and the young replacements… Especially with SF Andrew Wiggins missing (that was the guy that could bridge the gap between the two factions).  They went 3-7 ATS during that 10 games stretch.

Our prediction for Friday, March 24th is….  Warriors 118 - Sixers 117

Vet on the Sixers.  The Sixers SHOULD hold Joel Embiid out of the game… if for no other reason than to be “cautionary”... teh playoffs are coming and they will need him.  Harden however should play.  This leaves the Warriors to struggle defensively against an athletic Sixers team that is led by the NBA’s assist leader. Take the points and watch as the Warriors can not cover win or lose.

76ers: SG Tyrese Maxey.  Tyrese is not an offensive juggernaut… But he is a defensive juggernaut.  Earlier this year they tried to replace Maxey in the starting lineup and quickly realized that his defense is always needed on the floor.  He is the perfect recipe to contain Klay Thompson.

Warriors: SG Steph Curry. The mighty Steph Curry.  The man whose shooting prowess changed the NBA forever!  He is still all that awesomeness in a small body.  It also does not seem to matter how many points he scores in the win/loss column. It must be frustrating for him.  He still leads a winning team… he still gets all the attention and commercials… But they are only a shadow of what they were at their best.
