- Our 10* MLB Friday Vegas Jackpot is on Milwaukee with the money line versus Washington at 8:10 pm et.
Milwaukee had won eight of nine games before losing at St. Louis yesterday by an 8-4 score. Manager Craig Counsell’s team has won six of their last seven games. Returning home should give this team a lift as they have won twelve of their last fifteen home games against losing teams. The Brewers have won seven of their last opening games to a new series. They have a great opportunity to begin a new winning streak against the Nationals Patrick Corbin. The left-hander has struggled this season with a 6.04 era and a 1.44 whip and a losing 6-12 record. Things have been even worse for Corbin since the beginning of July. In his last eight starts over 44 innings, he has a 7.36 era and a 1.57 whip, and he has allowed at least four earned runs in six straight starts. His strikeout rate of 18.1% is the lowest of his career. He struck out 30.8% of the batters he faced just three years ago in his last season with Arizona. Corbin’s nasty slider has become simply ordinary during his tenure at Washington. The Nationals have won just three times in their last nineteen games when Corbin is the starting pitcher in games where the oddsmakers install him as a money line underdog. He faces a hot-hitting Milwaukee team that is averaging 5.9 runs per game in their last seven games with a .304 batting average and a .534 slugging percentage. The Brewers have won twenty-seven of their last thirty-eight games against starting pitchers with a whip of 1.30 or higher.
Washington had lost seven in a row before winning the final two games in their series with Toronto. The Nationals beat the Blue Jays, 8-5, on Wednesday yet they have won just twice in their last seven games after scoring five or more runs in their last game. Washington has only won once in their last five opening games to a new series. The Nationals begin a nine-game road trip tonight, and they have won only three of their last seventeen games on the road. The oddsmakers have installed an over/under of 9 for this game, and Washington has won just once in their last seven games on the road when the oddsmakers install the over/under from 9 to 10.5. They face an angry starting pitcher in Brett Anderson who got hit hard for six runs in 3 1/3 innings in his last appearance in a start at Pittsburgh last Saturday. The left-hander had been in the groove before that start with a 1.40 era and a 0.82 whip in his previous five starts. He has a 4-6 record on the season with a 4.09 era and a 1.30 whip, yet he prefers pitching at home at American Family Field where he has a 2.81 era and a 1.22 whip in six starts. The Nats have not pulled an upset in four straight games on the road as a money line underdog. Take Milwaukee with the money line.
Good luck - Team Del Genio.
