Analysis: My selection is on Kansas City over Los Angeles at 9:35 pm et on Friday. I don't think there's any question the knee-jerk reaction from most casual bettors will be to back the Angels after they just reeled off three straight wins over the Rangers while the Royals check in off a three-game series sweep at the hands of the Dodgers. I actually thought Kansas City put up a pretty good fight against arguably the best team in baseball, losing a pair of games by a single run and the other by only two. The starting pitching matchup favors the Royals here with veteran right-hander Seth Lugo taking the ball. Kansas City is 4-3 in his last seven starts and he's given them some quality innings, lasting six innings or more in four of his last five outings. It continues to be a struggle at the big league level for former highly-touted Orioles prospect Grayson Rodriguez. It hasn't been all bad for the right-hander but he's had a miserable time trying to get into the win column with the Angels losing five straight and eight of his last nine starts. Take Kansas City (8*).
