Analysis
I will take the OVER in Friday's game between the Broncos and Falcons, simply because I expect both teams to have solid quarterback play for a majority of this game. This is mainly due to how Atlanta plans on utilizing its starters, as well as how Denver will use Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger. Atlanta head coach Kevin Stefanski plans on starting Tua Tagovailoa, with the first-team offense playing about one series or ten snaps. Veteran quarterback Cooper Rush will take over after that, with Jack Strand closing out the game. Stidham and Ehlinger are expected to handle the Broncos starting quarterback duties, with Stidham playing the first half and Ehlinger the second. As for the rest of Denver’s healthy starters, they should play around 10 to 15 snaps. Between Tagovailoa and Stidham having starting experience, plus Rush and Ehlinger being capable backups, we should see both teams have strong quarterback play for the majority of this game. Atlanta gives us Tagovailoa and its starting offense to start things off, while Denver will have most of its offensive starters with Stidham under center. The Falcons and Broncos both have veteran quarterbacks to finish the game, too. That bodes well for the OVER because even if Atlanta’s starters can keep it close to start the game, Denver’s backups can capitalize once their starters leave the game. While both teams are expected to use their starters early, we have Stidham and Ehlinger handling Denver’s quarterback duties with Atlanta counting on Tagovailoa and Rush. These are experienced quarterbacks that know how to move the ball, so I’ll take the OVER in Friday night’s preseason contest. Jim's Play: 119. Broncos/Falcons OVER
