George Kirby (8-9, 3.68 ERA) vs. Peter Lambert (8-6, 3.09 ERA) .
Seattle managed to win the finale of the series against the Yankees on Thursday. That win was huge for some confidence. I expect the M's to keep up the strong play on Friday when they take on their divisional rivals in the Astros. George Kirby gets the nod & he's been fantastic so far in August with a 0.75 ERA over two outings.
On the other hand, Houston currently leads the division (but not by much.) Peter Lambert, who took the L in his last start against the Mariners, will be on the bump this evening. He's having a solid season, but has a horrid 0-2 record + 8.10 ERA in two games played against Seattle. The Mariners lineup is also much better than it showed against NYY. Give me Seattle at this price & this pitching matchup any day of the week.
Burns' Prediction: 5-2 Mariners.
