Analysis: In the second year of the franchise, the Valkyries have the second best record in the WNBA at 22-9. Golden State won the first meeting between these teams by 20 points and the Valkyries have been a strong road performer this season despite being known for a great home court edge. Los Angeles is just 12-18 in a disappointing season and trading Kelsey Plum was a disappointing outcome. The Sparks are just 2-7 in the past nine games but on Thursday Los Angeles shocked Minnesota with an 89-82 road win. That will be a difficult result to follow-up, and the Sparks will command the full attention of Golden State. Los Angeles has been on the road the past three games and next on the schedule is a unique game at USC’s home arena on Tuesday as this is a dangerous spot on the schedule. On a 12-2 run the Valkyries, only two of the team’s past 10 wins have come by fewer than eight points.
