Analysis: It's the only MLB game I'm going to play today, cause for me, it's the only one that matters. My MLB Game of the Month is the Texas Rangers, who are hungry to regain control of the American League West after squandering first place to the Houston Astros recently. In order to maintain momentum, though, they cannot afford to lose to teams like the Baltimore Orioles. The Rangers are one-half game back of the 'Stros, who have their hands full in San Diego against the Padres this weekend, as we saw with the loss yesterday. Texas has won 21 of its last 37, since late June, so it's not as if it hasn't become accustomed to winning. The Rangers come into this one on a four-game winning streak after outscoring their opponents by an average final of 4.5 to 1.5. The Orioles, on the other hand, have lost 10 of 17 after allowing an average of 4.9 runs per game and producing a 4.05 ERA. They rank 22nd this season with a 4.19 ERA and are 20th with their road ERA of 4.65. With a good chance they can regain sole possession of first place, I'll back the Rangers in this one.
