Pick: Golden State Valkyries vs Los Angeles Sparks Under 170.5 (-110) (Consensus Line)

Analysis: My selection is on the 'under' between Golden State and Los Angeles at 7 pm et on Sunday. When these two teams last met they combined to score just 136 total points. Of course, that's been long forgotten by most bettors as that game took place in mid-June and let's face it, it's the WNBA we're talking about here. Golden State enters this game off a string of 'over' results - five straight, in fact. Unfortunately, we've been on the 'under' in their last three contests. We certainly deserved a better fate on Friday as the Valkyries held the Wings to 21-for-62 shooting but a parade to the free throw line throughout the game ultimately led to 170 total points. Of note, that final score still would have stayed 'under' the number we're working with on Sunday. I don't think Golden State will be interested in a track meet here. Instead I'm confident we'll see them rely on their half court execution and strong defense against a beatable but improving Sparks squad. Los Angeles checks in off a massive 'upset' win on the road against Minnesota. While I do think a letdown of sorts is in order here, I believe it will manifest at the offensive end of the floor off a 50% shooting performance last time out. Take the under (8*).
