Analysis: While Spain is the heavy favorite to win this group, and Uruguay has the talent to make a run as well, I'm leery of this Saudi group and think it might pose a problem in this Group H opener. Uruguay has the capability of getting in the net often, forcing an uptempo game. The problem with that is Uruguay's attacking style tends to leave it vulnerable to counter. Saudi Arabia is well equipped to contribute to get on the score sheet, as new manager Georgios Donis has the troops tuned up for this tournament. Green's attacking style employs a rhythmic 4-2-3-1 formation, which commits to playing on the front foot. It certainly makes Saudi Arabia an entertaining underdog in this group, and at this tournament, for that matter. Let's not forget that in 2022, the Saudis pulled off one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history when they beat Lionel Messi and the eventual champions Argentina in their opening match. I think there might be too much pressure on Uruguay and it may press a bit too much, allowing Saudi Arabia to sneak a couple in and stay within striking distance for the win. With a final Group H matchup against Spain lurking, Uruguay is going to get caught looking ahead. I'll take Saudi Arabia.
