Analysis: Dallas is two wins away from already matching last season’s win count. The Wings are a franchise on the rise with young stars, but the 8-5 start has come through the #15 ranked strength of schedule at this point in the season. Atlanta, New York, Minnesota, and Las Vegas look like the top four contenders this season and the Wings are 2-4 in those games, but one of the wins was a home win over the defending champion Aces on May 28. Dallas had a long layoff ahead of that home game and won 95-87 with excellent shooting, hitting 49 percent overall and 45 percent from 3-point range, while also +12 at the free throw line. The Aces were facing a fifth road game in six games for a tough path earlier in the season for that contest but that was the last defeat for Las Vegas. The Acs have won six in a row to regain the top spot in the league standings. This is a Commissioners Cup game, and the Aces are 7-1 in road games this season with only that loss in Dallas so this should be a focused effort from Las Vegas. The Aces were -5.5 in that game just a few weeks ago, as this is a favorable price even now with Paige Bueckers playing at less than 100 percent with an ankle injury.
