- Despite having to fly into and out of the USA for this game, Iran is the clear favorite in this matchup. Iran is ranked 20th in the World, while New Zealand is ranked 85th. New Zealand enters on terrible form, as after securing qualification in March 2025, it's claimed just two victories and it's coming off back-to-back defeats to Haiti and England in which it failed to register a goal. In fact, New Zealand has failed to score in four of its last five matches. Iran has the depth, skill and overall motivation to perform in this contest and I see that happening. In what I believe is a great overall "situational" play, I think we're getting great value on Iran, which could or should be a much larger favorite in this matchup, in my opinion.
