Analysis: ASA WNBA play on Phoenix Mercury -3.5 vs. Chicago Sky, 10 pm ET - We made a mistake and bet the Mercury in their last game against the Lynx but that result has impacted today’s number and value clearly lies with Phoenix here. Chicago is projected to be one of the lower teams in the WNBA this season yet they are catching essentially the same number here from the Mercury, that Phoenix was just favored by against a contender in Minnesota. Chicago is 2-0 but both wins have come against the expansion Portland Fire and last years expansion team the Golden State Valkyries. Phoenix opened the season with an impressive road win in Vegas but has since lost two straight which should have them motivated here. Phoenix has the better roster at this point with Alyssa Thomas – another potential MVP candidate along with Copper and Bonner. Phoenix was 18-10 SU at home a year ago with an average +/- of plus 5.4PPG. As a home favorite they were 9-10 ATS but had an average margin of victory in those games of +6.2PPG. Chicago didn’t travel well a year ago with a 4-18 SU on the road a year ago with an average loss margin of -10.4PPG. The situation favors the Mercury minus the points.
