- I think the Thunder will be out to send an early message to this depleted Lakers side. LeBron James and company managed to get by the wounded Rockets in six games, but the defending champs have been off for a week since sweeping the Suns. They won Game 1 here over Phoenix by a score of 119-84, and I'm expecting a similar result in Game 1 here in the second round, as well. The Thunder destroyed the Lakers 123-87 in LA in their most recent regular-season matchup on April 7th and all signs point to a similar destruction here in Game 1 in my estimation. I think the well-rested home side will look to destroy LA in Game 1, to try and demoralize their opponent moving forward throughout this series.
