- #576 PHOENIX (-) over Golden State at 10 PM EST
In a bad mood off that four-point home loss to Portland, Phoenix will rally the troops and pick up a solid win and cover over visiting Golden State on Friday night. The Warriors just upset the Clippers in Los Angeles and this will be a difficult encore for head coach Steve Kerr and his players.
Locked into a double revenge mode and with the No. 8 seed on the line, the Suns will be sure to bring their "A-Game" to the Footprint Center. At home in this series, Phoenix has played well lately inking a solid 9-3 SU and ATS record in the last 12 meetings. In addition, in their own backyard running the court against an opponent that checks in off a straight up road dog win, head coach Jordan Ott and his men own a profitable 24-5 SU and 18-11 ATS tally including a powerful 9-2 SU and ATS provided they are rolling with same season revenge.
Technically, this is not a good situation for the visitors. First, underdogs in this stage of the Play-In round own a disgusting 1-9 SU and ATS record in their last 10. Second, as a guest arriving with confidence off a straight up win, Golden State holds a feeble 5-16 SU and ATS mark in its last 21 tries including just 4-13 SU and 3-14 ATS provided the Warriors hit the hardwood off a straight up victory of five points or more. Finally, on the road busting in off a division battle and going into same season revenge, Coach Kerr and his troops have been a poor investment posting a rough 30-66 SU and 33-58-2 ATS tally including a woeful 13-33 SU and ATS provided they slide in off a pointspread victory. With those two parameters live and the Dubs fighting a foe that carries a team won/loss percentage of .450 or higher, this angle falls to a miserable 3-21 SU and 4-20 ATS.
The Suns don't want to be the first No. 7 seed in the play-in tournament to lose twice and miss out on postseason and they will lean on the strength of their homecourt to pick up this payday. Take Phoenix. Thanks, and best of luck, Tom.
