- Analysis
- After an 82-79 loss to Arkansas in the SEC tournament, Sooners coach Porter Moser was given a vote of confidence from newly hired athletic director Roger Denny. This is a good spot for Moser to show how well he can do in a tournament environment. Remember, this is a guy who guided Loyola-Chicago to the national semifinals in 2018, so guiding an SEC team through this secondary field should be a problem.
There are some who believe Oklahoma was one of three or four teams shunned by the selection committee, after the Sooners won eight of 10 to close the season.
This is a squad that won at Vanderbilt, 92-91, and at Texas, 88-85.
The Sooners are facing a Colorado team missing three of its four top scorers, and it's no wonder the line has shifted three points in favor of Oklahoma.
The Buffaloes lost leading scorer Isaiah Johnson (17 ppg.), Sebastian Rancik (12 ppg.) and Bangot Dak (12 ppg.) to the transfer portal.
And I don't see Barrington Hargress doing enough to keep the Buffs close.
If you need to see how this game will go, you need only look at how the Sooners beat Georgia by 16, Auburn by 12, LSU by 16, Missouri by 16, South Carolina by 12 or Texas A&M by 20 over the final stretch of the campaign.
I'm sure the Sooners can win this by double digits, but I also don't like losing the value when a line moves this much. I'm going to lay the halftime line and play Oklahoma first half.
