Analysis
Baylor is coming into this game with a 16-16 record this season and they are 6-12 in their conference. They ended the season by losing in their 1st game of the Big 12 Tournament, losing to Arizona State 83-79, but they are going to be hungry to bounce back and end the season the right way now that they have a shot at redemption. They were not playing poorly to end the regular season as they had won 2 of their last 3 as well as 3 of their last 5 games of the regular season with their only 2 losses in that span coming against Arizona and Houston. They played a gauntlet of a schedule though playing in the Big 12 and they were very good in the non-conference with their only losses coming against St John's and Memphis. They are going up against a Minnesota team that is 15-17 this season and they are 8-12 in their conference. They ended the regular season playing well as they had won 2 of their last 3 as well as 4 of their last 6 games, but they were also playing much weaker teams in the conference in that span with their only quality win coming against UCLA. They also fell flat in the Big 10 Tournament as they lost their 1st game of it to an awful Rutgers team 72-67, and they struggled in the non-conference as well. They did not have a very tough non-conference schedule, but they took losses against Missouri, Stanford, San Francisco and Santa Clara who all either play in weaker conferences or were much weaker teams in their power conferences. Minnesota did not have a good offense this season either, averaging 70 points scored per game, so Baylor has the much more consistent offense to lean on with better shooters. Baylor will cover the spread in this game.
