- #916 KANSAS CITY with Cameron (-) over Minnesota with Ryan at 7:40 PM EST
With momentum off a pair of solid wins over the Braves and Twins, the Royals will pick up another victory in this critical AL Central showdown. Minnesota checks in holding a 1-3 SU record and manager Derek Shelton and his kids will have more trouble in this their fifth straight road game.
Holding the pearl for the home squad will be southpaw Noah Cameron. In his rookie season with KC, No. 65 made 24 starts and was tripped for only 46 earned runs and 109 hits in 138.1 innings of work. Noah whiffed 114 and walked 43 on his way to a 9-7 record with a 2.99 ERA. Equally impressive, at home last season, Cameron was clipped for 22 earned runs and 52 hits in 67.2 frames. That shakes down to a 5-3 mark with a 2.93 ERA.
Right-hander Joe Ryan will counter for the visitors. In his first start of the season, No. 41 faced the O's on the road and allowed no earned runs and one hits in 5.1 innings. Joe struck out seven, walked two, and was tagged with the loss in the Twins 2-1 blemish. Last year, Ryan appeared in 31 games (30 starts) and was spanked for 65 earned runs and 138 hits in 171.0 frames. After the math, that adds up to a 13-10 mark with a 3.42 ERA.
On a technical note, Kansas City has inked a 26-4 record at home when facing a foe that sports a team won/loss percentage less than .380. On the other side of the field, Minnesota has fallen in 52 of its last 93 when coming off a loss and 52 of its last 85 when competing on foreign soil.
The Royals are sitting in the top spot in the division and they need this victory in order to stay there. Take Kansas City with Cameron. Thanks, and best of luck, Tom.
