- The Yankees are 4-1 this year. New York swept its opening series in San Francisco, then came up short in the opener in Seattle by falling 2-1. But, the Yanks bounced back in last night's 5-0 victory. Now I'm expecting the Mariners to respond once again in the finale. I believe New York will get caught "looking ahead" to its favorable upcoming home schedule with series vs. the Marlins and A's starting on Friday night. Seattle, on the other hand, hits the road for the first time after this, putting added emphasis onto this game here on Wednesday night at home. The Mariners went 2-2 in their opener vs. the Guardians. Cameron Schlittler gets the call for the Yanks, while George Kirby counters for the home side to start in this one and I believe they're a "wash." I think Seattle offers tremendous line value considering the overall situation that each side finds itself in coming into this one, though. The play is on the Mariners ***AFTERNOON SIDE WINNER
