- The Warriors have an extremely limited roster right now with De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford all joining Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry out of action. The Warriors have dropped four in a row and six of the past seven games. While fading this group makes sense as the team heads east for a six-game road trip starting in New York, the ‘over’ may be the more appealing look compared with laying a near season-high price with the Knicks. This total is about 10 points lower than the January meeting between these teams and top tier defensive intensity from the Knicks can’t be expected on Sunday night back at home after five straight games on the road. Josh Hart is likely to sit out for a third straight game with a knee issue while Karl-Anthony Towns is expected back in the lineup after missing the last game to boost the offense. This is a revenge game for the Knicks who lost 126-113 in San Francisco about two months ago and while New York is a top five scoring defense in the NBA, this is set to be only the sixth game all season for the Knicks with a total below 220, while Golden State has played only six such games. There are plenty of scenarios where the defensive effort could be lacking in the second half of this game and the Warriors still have several quality outside shooters on the roster that will have an opportunity to shine on Sunday in a high-profile game while likely facing a limited defensive effort if the Knicks build a healthy lead as this spread suggests is likely.
