- Analysis
- At 7 pm, our selection is on the Michigan Wolverines minus the points over Nebraska. The Wolverines started the season like a house on fire, with a point spread differential of +12.34 through their first 13 games - a feat which no other team had achieved in the last 36 years. Since then, Michigan is 0-6 ATS. But that shouldn't be viewed as anything but "normal." Indeed, the team with the 2nd best point spread differential to start a season was St. Mary's, which went 12-0 ATS to kick off the 2015-16 season, and covered by an average of 12.0 ppg through its first 12 games. The Gaels then proceeded to go 1-9 ATS over their next 10 games. The reality is that teams can only outperform the point spread for so long; the oddsmakers will adjust, and teams will come back down to earth. But make no mistake: Michigan is arguably the best team in the country. Nebraska is also very good, and owns the 2nd best W/L record (behind Arizona), at 20-0. However, I expect Michigan to make a statement tonight. Lay the points.
