Yesterday’s Results for Kansas State vs West Virginia

Analysis: Both teams have been involved in several lower-scoring defensive battles of late. Still, I love the way this one in West Virginia finally sets up to be much more of a wide-open "shootout," and because of that, I'm expecting this total to blast well past the posted number before the final buzzer sounds. Kansas State is 10-10 overall, including only 1-4 on the road. West Virginia, on the other hand, is 13-7 overall, including 12-0 at home. The Mountaineers have played to four straight unders and gone 2-2 over that span, most recently falling 88-53 at Arizona. This is their third straight on the road. Last season, the Wildcats won this game by a score of 73-60. K-State has struggled with conference play so far, most recently falling 86-62 at Kansas as a 4.5-point dog. As I said off the top, each has struggled with offensive consistency of late, but I think the value has now finally swung the other way as far as the total is concerned. The Wildcats are decent offensively and poor defensively, averaging 84.1 PPG while conceding 80.5 (255th). WVU averages 76.1 PPG while allowing just 67.7. Off the lacklustre effort in the setback at Arizona, I really do expect WVU's gameplan will be to attack from the opening tip until the final horn here against this porous K-State defense. Ultimately, I'm expecting that a faster overall pace and an efficient overall game will lead to a higher-scoring final combined outcome; the play is on the over ***BIG 12 TOTAL OF THE YEAR
