- The Chargers are coming into this game with a 9-4 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 2 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games and they are coming off of a 22-19 win at home against the Eagles in their last game. They have not been great on the road though as they are 3-2 on the road this season with wins coming against the Raiders, the Titans, and the Dolphins. They also lost to the Giants on the road and lost their last road game against the Jaguars 35-6. This is not a good spot for them either as they are on the road on a short week after playing a Monday night game that went to OT against the Super Bowl champions. They are going up against a Chiefs team that is 6-7 this season and they have not been playing well recently. They have lost their last 2 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 games with their only win in that span coming against the Colts in OT. They are coming off of a 20-10 loss at home against the Texans in their last game, but that was against one of the better defenses in the league and some poor coaching decisions by Reid lost them that game. They already have very slim chances to make the playoffs, but this is a game that they simply have to win at home to stay alive and they are going to play with some desperation. The Chargers have been playing well on defense in recent games, but their defense still gives up a lot of yards and has some big holes in the secondary that Mahomes can attack. This Chiefs defense has also been much better at home this season and they played great last week to hold the Texans offense down until they were put in a bad position by their own coach. The Chiefs are going to bounce back at home in this game and keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Chiefs will cover the spread in this game.
