Yesterday’s Results for Utah Mammoth vs Anaheim Ducks

Analysis: The Anaheim Ducks are in the perfect spot to victimize the Utah Mammoth, and the fact the books are disrespecting the Pacific Division leaders with this line has me irked. Anaheim has been one of the most consistent teams since the season started, and it comes into this one with a 9-3-0 mark at home, hosting a Mammoth squad that is 5-9-2 away from Salt Lake City. I'll acknowledge that Anaheim is just 5-6-0 since opening the season 11-3-1, but there's two sides to every story. The Ducks also went on a three-game road trip after those first 15 games, and when they got back home, they won four of six in Anaheim, including a 3-2 overtime win over these same Mammoth. Take away those road losses and suddenly we're talking about a team that has won five of eight. The Mammoth, on the other hand, have lost four straight and 11 of 14 since Nov. 5, including eight straight (100% ANGLE) on the road. Anaheim is on an 8-2-0 run at home, outscoring opponents 41-27 in that stretch. Anaheim's 16 wins trail only two clubs (Colorado and Dallas), while its 33 points are tied for fifth among all NHL teams. And I can get this team at a pick? It's only Dec. 3, but I can't imagine liking anything stronger over the next 28 days. Maybe as much, but not more. This is my Western Conference Game of the Month.
