- Southern Miss is coming into this game with a 4-3 record this season and they have been playing much better in their recent games. They started the season 1-3, but they also had a very tough schedule in that span and that is going to help them in tougher games going forward. Now they have been heating up as they have won their last 3 straight games. They have been dominant in these wins as well, winning all 3 of those games by 9+ points, and their defense has been good in those as they allowed 60 points or less in 2 of their last 3 games. They have also scored 82+ points in 2 of those 3 games as their offense has been good. They have already played in 3 road games this season as well. They lost all 3 games, but all 3 losses were very close, including an 83-79 loss in OT against South Carolina. They are going up against a Radford team that is 3-6 this season and they have not been playing well in their recent games. They are coming off of a win at home in their last game against a non-Division I team, but they have been awful recently as they have lost 6 of their last 7 games. They only have 3 wins this season which all came at home, and 2 of those 3 wins were against non-Division I teams. They actually lost their last home game against a Division I opponent, losing to UNC Wilmington 81-73, and their defense has been awful as they have allowed 81+ points in their last 6 games against Division I opponents. These two also have a common opponent as Radford went on the road against South Carolina and were not even competitive in an 87-58 loss. Those early road tests are going to help Southern Miss in this game and they are the much better team as well. Southern Miss will cover the spread in this game.
