Yesterday’s Results for Memphis Grizzlies vs Dallas Mavericks

Analysis: Dallas has not enjoyed the start many expected with the Mavericks just 5-12 including eight home losses. Last night Dallas outdueled New Orleans for a 118-115 home win but the Pelicans are a 2-win team at the bottom of the league. Dallas shot 48 percent overall and had an 11 percent edge in 3-point shooting yet the game still came down-to-the wire. The Mavericks have had two high-profile home games this week in tense four quarter games and now face a third game in four days with the Grizzlies visiting. Memphis won 118-104 hosting Dallas in early November and while Memphis has a poor 5-11 overall record, the Grizzlies had a strong performance Thursday to snap a five-game slide. Four of those five losses came on the road in a stretch of games against some of the best teams in the league. The past four home losses for Memphis have come against Oklahoma City, Houston, Detroit, and the Lakers teams that are a combined 50-11 and bear no resemblance to the Mavericks. Memphis is 5-11 but all 11 losses have come against top 16 NBA teams, a range where Dallas is nowhere near while Dallas has only six such losses while 4-12 overall as the schedules have put these teams to similar records in very different ways. Memphis is on a 5-0 S/U and ATS run in this series and given the set-up and the contrasting paths these teams have faced this season, another Grizzlies win seems likely on Saturday.
