Analysis: This is a play on the CHARLOTTE 49ERS for our CFB Friday Enforcer. Early in the season, linemakers and the public have limited data, which leads to inflated numbers for teams that are favored and we are seeing that here. Charlotte could be a team on the rise following five straight losing seasons. The 49ers hired a new head coach Tim Albin who comes in from Ohio and he is an excellent hire as he had a rough first year with the Bobcats but then went 31-10 from 2022-2024 including a MAC Championship. This is a young team that is in a rebuild but it makes it easier with a coach that likes to run the ball, Ohio was No. 12 in rushing last season, and has a solid offensive line. Albin brought in both co-defensive coordinators from his defense that was No. 9 last season. Appalachian St. is in a very similar situation as it is a rebuild with only seven returning starters and a new head coach in Dowell Loggains. The Mountaineers had their first losing season ever in FBS since entering in 2014 and we are not sure what to expect this season. The defense was awful and Loggains is an offensive coach and the defensive will be relying on a ton over lower level transfers. Charlotte is a live home underdog. 10* (160) Charlotte 49ers
