- West Ham is coming into this match off of an awful start to the season. They are coming off of a 3-0 away loss in their 1st match of the season and that loss came against a newly promoted Sunderland side. They still have plenty of quality in their squad and they are not going to take that loss lightly so they will be pushing to bounce back in their 1st home match of the season and they are going to get up for a team like Chelsea. They are going up against a Chelsea side that is coming off of a great season as they won the Conference League and even won the Club World Cup back in July. They did not have a good start to the season though as they drew 0-0 at home in their 1st match with a very good Crystal Palace side. Chelsea created plenty of scoring chances in that match with that potent attack they have and even though they could not find the net there, they will have an easier time breaking down this weaker West Ham defense. This West Ham defense could not keep Sunderland out of their net last week so they are not going to keep this much stronger Chelsea attack out here, but West Ham will be eager to score their 1st goal of the season at home here after going scoreless in that 1st match and they still have a lot of quality in their attack that can find the net on this defense. These two also have a high scoring history as they have gone over 2.5 goals in their last 4 straight meetings with both teams scoring in all 4 of those as well. Between these two sides, there will be enough goals in this match to push it over 2.5 goals.
