Analysis
#907 NY METS with Manaea (-) over Padres with Bergert at 9:40 PM EST Checking in off a frustrating 7-6 road loss to the Friars, the Mets will get back on the winning track with a solid effort inside PETCO Park on Tuesday night. New York is clinging to a small 1.5-game lead over Philadelphia in the NL East and the Boys from the Big Apple need this dub like blood. Veteran southpaw Sean Manaea will grab the pearl for the visitors. With only three appearances in the books this year including two starts, No. 59 was nicked for just three earned runs and eight hits in 12.1 innings. Sean whiffed 18 and walked four on his way to a 1-1 record with a 2.19 ERA. In nine career outings against the Padres, Manaea has put together a respectable 4-1 mark with a strong 3.63 ERA. On the mound for the home team and fresh up from Triple-A El Paso will be righty Ryan Bergert. In 2025, No. 38 has appeared in 10 games (six starts) and been cracked for 10 earned runs and 22 hits in 31.2 innings. Ryan whiffed 30 and walked 14 on his way to a 1-0 mark with a 2.84 ERA. For El Paso, Bergert has made 11 starts and been nailed for 20 earned runs and 49 hits in 44.2 frames. That adds up to a 0-2 record with a 4.03 ERA. Plenty of lucrative trends line up on this investment. New York has picked up victories in 38 of its last 64 when playing under the lights, 14 of its last 23 over the last month, 29 of its last 51 when fighting a winning team, and 16 of its last 23 versus teams from the NL West. The Mets have the more seasoned arm on the bump and that will prove to be the difference in this contest. Take New York with Manaea. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
