The Sparks have just one home win this season and will enter this game coming off a high-profile road trip facing New York and Indiana, stunning the Fever with an 89-87 win on Saturday. Minnesota has won all three meetings this season with wins by 16 and 23 at home and a 14-point win in Los Angeles in May. Minnesota was outscored 27-14 in the 4th quarter yesterday in a game where the Mercury had twice as many free throws. Minnesota shot just 26 percent from 3-point range and had 18 turnovers for uncharacteristic results. Some distractions surrounding the All-Star announcements and snubs in Minnesota’s case may have impacted yesterday’s performance while the Mercury have been a strong team this season and impressed even without Kahleah Copper and Satou Sabally. The past seven losses for the Sparks have all come by at least eight points and the six Los Angeles wins have all featured at least 84 points, a pace that is 10 points above Minnesota’s league-leading defensive scoring average this season.
