- #959 DEVIL RAYS with Bradley (-) over Red Sox with Buehler at 7:10 PM EST
Off yesterday's impressive 7-3 road win over the Tigers, the Devil Rays will travel to Beantown and pick up another road win over the Red Sox. Tampa Bay is resting in third place in the division with a 4.0-game deficit and the Fish need victories to stay relevant in the race before the All-Star break hits.
Up on the bump for the guests will be righty Taj Bradley. In 2025, No. 45 has made a grand total of 18 starts and been tripped up for 52 earned runs and 90 hits in 97.2 innings. Taj fanned 84 and issued 37 free passes on his way to a 5-6 record with a 4.79 ERA. Facing the Twins, Orioles, and Royals (all on the road) in his last three starts, Bradley was bumped for eight earned runs and 16 hits in 17.2 frames. That equates to a 1-1 tally with a 4.08 ERA.
Jumping on the hill for the home team will be right-hander Walker Buehler. So far this season, No. 0 has made 15 stars and been tagged for 50 earned runs and 82 hits in 72.0 innings of work. Walker whiffed 61 and walked 32 on his way to a 6-6 tally with a 6.25 ERA. Since June 1st, Buehler has made six starts and been smashed for 27 earned runs and 36 hits in 25.1 frames. That adds up to a 2-3 tally with an elevated 9.59 ERA.
On a technical note, Tampa Bay has played well on the road picking up wins in 22 of its last 40 and has been solid without rest grabbing victories in 44 of its last 81 battles. Meanwhile, Boston has fallen in 77 of its last 149 when priced as home chalk.
After grabbing six straight wins over a pair of bottom-feeders in the Rockies and Nationals, the Red Sox will struggle when they step up in class and fight the Devil Rays. Take Tampa Bay with Bradley. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
