Analysis: (#955) Boston Red Sox // ML //. Tanner Houck (0-1, 6.35 ERA) vs. Charlie Morton (0-1, 10.85 ERA) . This will be the rubber-match of the short three game series between AL East opponents on Thursday. Baltimore won the first game and Boston took home the win yesterday. Boston pitched extremely well yesterday afternoon and I expect similar results here. Tanner Houck didn't look great in his first start. But, I have full confidence that he excels this afternoon. Houck had an excellent 3.12 ERA last season and should be around that again this year. On the other hand, Charlie Morton is simply getting to an age that he should consider calling it a day. Morton, who's into his 40s, had had a WHIP over 1.3 in each of the past couple of seasons. His 2025 campaign did not get off to a strong start as he gave up four runs on eight base runners (three and a third of an inning) against the Blue Jays. Rafael Devers isn't going to struggle forever and I could see him continuing what he did yesterday (2/4 w/ RBI) here today. Hammer the Red Sox to win the series on Thursday.
