Analysis
This is a play on the BALTIMORE ORIOLES as part of our MLB Tuesday Triple Play. Baltimore has played catchup most of this season against the Yankees but it has closed the gap to 1.5 games in the American League East and comes into tonight as a big underdog for their standards for no real reason. The Orioles are coming off a pair of series wins against the Braves and Phillies and are catching a great underdog number despite being one of the best road teams in the league. The Yankees are coming off a pair of losses in Boston over the weekend and have been playing average of late, going 5-5 in their last 10 games, scoring four runs or less in six of those. The Baltimore rotation has dealt with a lot of injuries and Albert Suarez has slid in to make a big impact with a 1.82 ERA through seven starts in his first big league season since 2017. Nestor Cortes has had a good season through 15 starts with a 3.59 ERA but he has shown inconsistencies, allowing four runs or more in one third of those, including his lone start against the Orioles, and he has had a lot of the success against some of the worst offenses in the game. We will continue to go against Cortes based on that negative regression against the top offenses as the Yankees have lost 24 games this season and nine of those has been with him on the mound so any top line numbers are not viable. Baltimore has been a team this season that has negated the strength of opposing starting pitchers as it is 23-8 against starting pitchers that strike out five or more batters per start this season and their success against left-handed pitching, a third best in baseball with a .782 OPS, will come though again. 10* (915) Baltimore Orioles
