Wyoming Cowboys Analysis
Wyoming is coming into this game with a 4-0 record overall and they are 2-0 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their first conference matchup of the season for the Mountain West. Their 4 wins came against the Montana State Bobcats, the Northern Illinois Huskies, the Ball State Cardinals and against UConn in their last game. UConn is a very bad team that has not won a game in over 2 years now after a winless year in their last season, but Wyoming almost handed them that sweet win in a close 24-22 game. They did have a bye last week so they have had an extra week to look over that close game and fix any problems while preparing for this important first conference game on the schedule. Sean Chambers really struggled in their last game as he completed 15/26 passes for 149 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. They had a nice day in their ground game as Xazavian Valladay led the team in rushing with 101 yards and 1 touchdown on 22 carries. Titus Swen also had a nice day on the ground as he had 84 rushing yards and 1 TD on 15 carries. It was a very quiet day for the receiving corps though as Ayden Eberhardt led the receivers with 40 yards on 3 receptions. Keyon Blakenbaker led the defense with 6 solo tackles and 1 assisted one while Garrett Crall had 5 solo tackles. Solomon Byrd also had 5 solo tackles and 1 assisted one while also leading the team in sacks with 1.5. Rome Weber had the other 1/2 sack while Victor Jones also had 1 himself but it was Esaias Gandy who came away with the only interception for them in that one. They have scored 138 points in their first 5 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 93 points against them. Their offense is averaging 368 YPG while their defense is allowing 335.3 YPG.
Air Force Falcons Analysis
AFA is coming into this game with a 4-1 record overall and they are 2-1 in their home games this season where they will be in this game in Colorado Springs. This will be their 3rd conference matchup of the season and they are already 1-1 to kickoff their conference games for the MWC this year. Their 1 loss came against the Utah State Aggies while their 4 wins came against the Lafayette Leopards, the Navy Midshipmen, the Florida Atlantic Owls, and against New Mexico in their last game. They are on a 2 game winning streak coming into this one. As usual, they had no passing game in their last one as quarterback Haaziq Daniels completed 1/2 passes for 33 yards. Brad Roberts led the team in rushing with 142 yards and 2 touchdowns on 29 carries while DeAndre Hughes had a nice day as well rushing for 89 yards and 1 touchdown on 10 carries. Omar Fattah also played well with 60 rushing yards on 6 carries. Brandon Lewis had the only reception for them in the game for 33 yards. Vince Sanford led the defense with 6 solo tackles and 1 assisted one while Corvan Taylor was right behind him with 5 solo tackles and 1 assisted one. Sanford also led the team in sacks in that game with 3.5 while Jordan Jackson had the other 1/2 sack. No one on the defense came away with an interception in that game. They have scored 172 points in their first 5 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 83 points against them. Their offense is averaging 444.2 YPG while their defense is allowing 285.6 YPG.
Wyoming vs Air Force Prediction
Air Force is coming into this game after 3 straight games of scoring over 30 points themselves. They have actually scored over 30 points in 4 of their 5 games this season. Wyoming is also a high scoring team. Before stumbling against UConn in their last game, they had scored over 45 points in 2 straight games. Both of these teams move the ball well on offense and the total is very low here so this game will likely go over as both teams have shown they can score points in every game this year. Wyoming also has a slight advantage here as they have had the extra week to plan and prepare for this game. Also, AFA has that one-dimensional offense that only runs the ball. It works great for them but as soon as they run into a team that knows how to stop it, they will not be able to do much as they do not throw the ball. The best bets to place in this game is on Wyoming to cover the spread here and on the over as this should be a close back and forth game where both teams score some points.

Players to Watch
Wyoming Cowboys: Xazavian Valladay is one player to watch in this one. He leads his team in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a big game where he rushed for over 100 yards and he will want to continue that great play here. This will be a tough team for them to beat so look for him to get some touches as he is one of their playmakers.
Air Force Falcons: Brad Roberts is one player to watch here. He leads his team in rushing yards this season. He is coming off of a game where he rushed for almost 150 yards in the game. AFA does not like to throw the ball and they rarely do so look for Roberts to get a lot of carries here and pick up a lot of yards on the ground for them.
“I think that’s a heck of an accomplishment by this football team. However, that needs to be framed. This football team can play a heck of a lot better than what it did.” - Craig Bohl on his team’s 4-0 start to the season.
"He's a very instinctive football player. He's played three different positions for us and he handled every one of them. He just has an innate understanding for the game and how to play the game." - Troy Calhoun on Sanford’s performance in their last game against UNM.
