Jets vs Stars Prediction

The current betting odds have the Stars listed as a favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. This is game 3 of a 7 game series between the 1st seeded Jets and the 2nd seeded Stars from the Central Division for the 2nd round of the NHL Western Conference playoffs. This series is all tied up 1-1 after the Jets won game 2 at home. The Jets made it a 1-1 series with a 4-0 win over the Stars in the 2nd game of this series and they really bounced back nicely after a tight loss in game 1. They lost the 1st game of this series at home 3-2 in a really tight game, but they bounced back with that 4-0 win and Hellebuyck looked great. As good as Hellebuyck looked in that one, he still hasn't been great in the playoffs this year and he has been a very different goaltender on the road too. The Jets lost all 3 of their road games against the Blues in the last series and that was against a much weaker Wild Card team, yet they still couldn't keep them out of the net. The Stars have a much stronger offense though and they have looked a lot better on home ice in the playoffs too. Their defense has also been better there so with this series tied at 1 going back to Dallas for game 3, all signs point to the Stars taking this game. The best way to place a bet here is on the Stars to win this game.

Notable Quotes

“[Hellebuyck] was fantastic. Sometimes we take him for granted because he makes the hard look easy, so easy, but he had some acrobatic ones tonight.” - Scott Arniel after his team’s win against the Stars in game 2 of this series on Friday.

“One goes off our own skate into the net, and you’re down 2-0. That’s a big hole in this rink. Self-inflicted. That one was kind of unlucky. Having said that, I thought we pushed hard in the second and tried to climb back into the game. Hellebuyck made some saves. (If) we get one there, maybe the momentum shifts.” - Pete DeBoer after his team’s loss against the Jets in game 2 of this series on Friday.
