Vanderbilt vs Texas Prediction

The current betting odds have Texas listed as a 2.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Texas has looked good in their games this season with their 6-2 record overall and their 3-1 conference record which has them higher in the SEC. They haven't been the team that they were supposed to be coming into the season, ranked inside the top 5 with a potential Heisman caliber QB, but they have looked better as the season has gone on. They are off a 45-38 win over Mississippi State in their last one and needed a big comeback win late, but Arch Manning looked a lot better at the end of that one and they can build on that momentum going forward. They also have a great defense that is still one of the best in the SEC with the talent that they have. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt has looked great in their games this season with their 7-1 record overall and their 3-1 conference record which has them right near the top of the SEC. They are off a 17-10 win over Mizzou and beat LSU the week before, but they have also been playing a lot of games at home. Their 1 loss was on the road against Alabama and that wasn't a good game for them offensively. This is a very tough environment that Vandy is going into against a really good defense and as good as Vandy has been this season, this will be the game where they come back down to Earth while Texas looks to pick up a statement win that keep them in the playoff hunt. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas to cover the spread in this game.
